Firebird Muscle Cars are focus of Estes Park Auto Extravaganza

The Pontiac Firebird takes center stage at Estes Park’s Auto Extravaganza held alongside Estes Park’s Bond Park on Saturday, August 14, 2010. The show begins at 10 a.m. and runs to 3 p.m., with the awards ceremony at 2:30 pm. Admission is free.
Bond Park is located in the heart of downtown Estes Park at the intersection of McGregor and Elkhorn (Estes Park’s main street) Avenues.

Firebird owners from around the country will showcase their classic “muscle” cars at the event. General Motors introduced the storied Pontiac Firebird in 1967, with the first generation featuring a range of Pontiac engines and “coke bottle” styling. The car evolved through three more generations until GM ceased production in 2002.

In addition to the Firebirds, the show will display a variety of vintage automobiles. Last year winners were a 1962 Jensen-Volvo P-1800, a 1936 Ford Delux Tudor Touring Sedan, a 1950 XKE-120 Roadster and the 1970 Austin Mini Clubmane Estate.
