Colorado Springs, CO – August 11, 2010 – Long before J.K. Rowling conceived the idea of the Harry Potter books and the character of Hogwarts Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, Oberon Zell was a practicing Grand Wizard in America. While Oberon looks the part of the fictitious Dumbledore, he actually created an online school of wizardry and has studied and practiced the ancient magick of lore. He is universally credited as being instrumental in the founding of the modern magickal community.
Oberon’s books, Grimoire for the Apprentice Wizard and Companion for the Apprentice Wizard, laid the foundation for his creation of the Grey School of Wizardry, providing an online program of esoteric education in arcane lore. With a faculty of 30 highly-qualified teachers, the Grey School provides a full apprentice-level curriculum, culminating in a Certificate of Journeyman Wizard. Approximately 600 students are currently enrolled, ranging in ages from 11 to 75. Offering more than 330 classes at seven levels in 16 Departments of magical studies, the Grey School is in many ways a real-life analog of Rowling’s fictional Hogwarts; and so too is the Grey School’s beloved Headmaster the genuine article.
Now residing in Sonoma County, California, with his wife of 36 years, Morning Glory, Oberon has traveled throughout the world—exploring Unicorns, swimming with the creatures once thought as Mermaids, and celebrating Solar eclipses at ancient stone circles. This esteemed Wizard is referenced or quoted in nearly 100 books, and has inspired, enthralled and enlightened many a curious mind both young and old. Oberon will be making three presentations at the Celebration Metaphysical Fair on Labor Day weekend at the Denver Merchandise Mart located at 1-25 and 58th Avenue. On Friday, September 3, he will be publicly performing a spell written for Celebration Productions at 6:00pm. On Saturday, September 4th at 2:30pm he will offer a keynote talk on “Real Magick for Personal Transformation.” On Sunday, September 5th at 2:30pm he will present “Wizardry School: Restoring the Wonder.”
