December Programs at Anythink Wright Farms

THORNTON, Colo.–Nov. 23, 2010– This December, Anythink’s annual food drive begins Wednesday, Dec. 1, and runs all month long. Food from the Heart encourages Adams County residents and library customers to bring non-perishable food items to their local Anythink. All donations will go to Adams County Food Distribution for distribution to local families. While you’re giving back to your community, help us give back to you by enjoying one of our fabulous programs in December.

Special Programs

Creating Photo Gifts with Snapfish

Tuesday, Dec. 7, 7 pm

Looking for a great holiday gift idea? Learn how to create photo gifts such as calendars, books, and mugs using online retailer Snapfish. Feel free to bring a flash drive or CD of photos to get started with your project. Participants will learn how to set up a free Snapfish account, add photos, and order gifts. Basic Internet skills and email account required.

Gifts From the Heart

Saturday, Dec. 11, 11 am-2 pm

Everyone is invited to make gifts for loved ones for the 2010 holiday season – snowball-shaped soaps and wire art projects, plus instructions on how to make mulled spice sachets for mulling your own bottle of wine or cider. It’s sure to be a cozy and fun holiday experience.

Family Story Times

Wednesdays, Dec. 1, 8 & 15, 6-6:30 pm and Saturdays, Dec. 4 & 18, 10 am

Have lots of fun with rhymes and stories for the whole family. Open to all ages.

Anythink Afternoons For Kids

Wednesdays, 3:30-4:30 pm

Each week features another activity for school-aged kids. Space is limited; registration required. Please visit our online calendar to register.

Dec. 1 On Your Own Loom – Learn how to weave on a handmade loom. You will learn the basics to design your own items, including a set of coasters. Participants are welcome to bring their own yarn for more color choices. Appropriate for students grades 4-6.

Dec. 8 Puzzle Frames – We’ll use recycled puzzles to create one-of-a-kind frames perfect for telling someone “you love them to pieces.” Appropriate for students grades k-3.

Baby Bounce

Mondays, Dec. 6 & 13, 9:45 am-10:05 am

Prime Time for Preschoolers

Toddler Tales

Tuesdays, Dec. 7 & 14, 10-10:20 am

Connect! - Email 101

Wednesday, Dec. 1, 10 am

Email allows you connect with friends, family, and employers with the click of a button. No postage necessary! Participants will learn how to set up a free email account with Gmail and get started sending and receiving emails. Basic computer skills required.

Good Times with Goodreads

Tuesday, Dec. 14,7 pm

Social networking for booklovers! See book recommendations from friends and strangers, make lists of books you want to read, rate and review the books you’ve already read, and even join the Anythink discussion group. Participants will learn how to set up a free Goodreads account, add books, find friends, and use other features. Basic Internet skills and email account required.
