Buffalo Run hosts the top golfers in the country

prestigious state golf tournament, regional major championship come to commerce city

COMMERCE CITY – With the peak golf season just around the corner, Buffalo Run is preparing its grounds to host two prestigious golf tournaments: the Colorado Golf Association (CGA) Publinks Championship and the National Professional Golf Tour (NPGT) Mile High Invitational.

"It really is an honor to host both of these tournaments," said Paul Hebinck, manager of golf and head golf professional at Buffalo Run. "Some great players will be here testing their skills."

The CGA Publinks Championship is a prominent state golf tournament played only on public golf courses. The event will be held June 17 through 19 at Buffalo Run, and the winner will represent Colorado at the U.S. Public Links Championship.

The NPGT is comprised of 160 local tournaments in 18 different markets, including eight regional majors. Buffalo Run will host both a local qualifier on June 14, as well as a regional major championship called the Mile High Invitational from June 21 through 24. The winner of the Mile High Invitational will take home a minimum purse of $125,000, with a chance to qualify for the NPGT National Open Championship and the ultimate prize of $1 million.
