Festivities begin at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday with continuous musical performances and historical demonstrations. Learn how to build a log cabin and rope a dummy. Visit an authentic mountain man encampment at Rich Mumford's new 8-foot teepee. Enjoy the beautiful art of Arthur Short Bull, Oglala Lakota artist. The kids will enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides from Aspen Lodge and the ever popular petting zoo. Don't miss the Stanley Steamer chugging around Bond Park.
Members of the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) will don authentic Western attire and reenact a Wild West gunfight with single shot, black powder guns. Kurtis Kelly "becomes" Lord Dunraven in a fascinating historic portrayal. Explore the rich history of Elkhorn Lodge and learn about the Elkhorn Lodge Preservation Society. The Estes Park Museum, Enos Mills Cabin and Estes Valley Library will also have exhibits.
Music will be in the air all weekend. While walking through Bond Park, pause and listen to the music of Vic Anderson and the High Country Cowboys, the Highland Brass Quintet, Johnny Mueller, Dick Orleans,
Cowboy Brad and Kim Lankford and Scott Wilseck.
Bring your appetite to Bond Park. In addition to tasty grilled food and funnel cakes, there are homemade ice cream and Donut Haus pastries. Don't miss the pie auction and the jams, jellies and preserves judging.
Vendors will offer Ecuadorian crafts, wood carvings, handmade soaps, knitted goods and much more.
