Adams County has lifted its ban on equine-related events and the boarding of horses at the Regional Park and Fairgrounds effective June 6, 2011. This follows a three-week moratorium the county enforced as a precautionary measure due to the outbreak of Equine Herpes Virus (EHV-1) throughout the western United States and Canada.
Adams County wishes to thank the public for their cooperation in preventing the spread of the disease and their understanding during the closures in the past few weeks.
County staff will continue to evaluate any future concerns of potentially contagious disease outbreaks that may affect livestock and necessitate future bans. For more information, call 303.637.8000.
