Children’s Museum of Denver, the Consulate General of Mexico and the Mexican Cultural Center Put on Biennial Event

Cultural KidsFest Celebrating Mexico will highlight Mexican traditions through art and dance

Denver, CO – In honor of the Biennial of the Americas, join the Children’s Museum of Denver, the Consulate General of Mexico and the Mexican Cultural Center for a day of celebration with traditional Mexican dance and indigenous arts and crafts.

What/When: Cultural KidsFest Celebrating Mexico Wednesday, July 21st, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Schedule of Events: 10:00 a.m. - Welcome by Donna Good, President of Operations and Finance with the Biennial of the Americas, and Consul General of Mexico, Eduardo Arnal, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (on-going) Mexican Rag Doll making with Rita Flores de Wallace, 10:30 a.m. - Performance by Colorado Mestizo Dancers, 11:30 a.m. - Academia de Ballet Folklorico performing “Netzahualcoylt", 12:30 p.m. - Academia de Ballet Folklorico performing “Netzahualcoylt", 1:30 p.m. - Performance by Mexico Mixto

This event takes place on the Museum plaza rain or shine.

Cost: This event is free to the public.

About the Biennial of the Americas

The 2010 Biennial of the Americas celebrates the culture, ideas and people of the Western Hemisphere. Throughout the entire month of July, Denver will offer visitors cross-cultural experiences through a wide array of art exhibits, live music and special cultural programming. Emerging talent and leaders in the arts, culture, sciences, politics, economics and technology will also convene roundtable discussions designed to create a shared vision for a more cohesive hemisphere. It will be one of the largest and most exciting international events of 2010.
