Zoo Will Bring Exotic Tales to Life In Support Of Scholarship Fund

Denver, CO (July 21, 2009) – Families can enjoy an enchanted evening offering magical up-close animal encounters in a fairy tale setting at Denver Zoo’s ZOOmily on Saturday, August 7 from 6-9 p.m. Once upon a time, there was a magical evening where your children’s favorite animal stories and fairy tales from around the world come to life with costumed characters as well as animal encounters, games, crafts, dessert and family fun.
Guests will travel down Nursery Rhyme Road to the undersea Fantasy Land, as they meet characters and animals from their favorite nursery rhymes and children’s stories. They can also join our Zooper Heroes force, striving to preserve the earth and protect the beloved residents of the Fairy Tale Forest! Children who come dressed up are eligible to enter to win fun prizes.

Add a fairy-tale feast for an additional $10 for adults and $8 for children 3-12 and you can complete your family night out with a feast suited for royalty! Menu items include Zooper Hero Sloppy Joes, Cheshire Cat Chicken Tenders and Fairy Tale Fruit Salad. Children ages 2 and under eat free with the purchase of an adult ticket.

Proceeds from this event benefit the Red Apple Fund, a Denver Zoo scholarship fund that subsidizes admission, program fees and transportation for low-income groups and families. In 2009, more than 20,000 individuals took advantage of the Red Apple Fund for Life-Long Learning and experienced the wonders of nature first hand.
