The Brighton Oasis opened last Friday and brought in more than 600 visitors over the weekend. The park features a lazy river with wave generator, tot pool with play feature, two water slides and a water basketball area. In addition, the park features a full concession stand as well as lockers and a pavilion for birthday parties and rentals.
The City broke ground on the $5.9 million aquatic park last December. Pinkard Construction Co. was the primary contractor building the new facility, which replaces the 50-year-old outdoor pool at Benedict Park.
The new park will be open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Sunday and 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Cost for residents is $2.50 for children 2 to 5, $4 for children 6 to 17 and seniors 60 and older, and $4.50 for adults. Children under 2 are free with a paying adult.
